Connecting a reader
Sign-in is the username and password you were given; there is no self-registration.
The catalog
The catalog is OPDS 2.0, at https://books.bradenm.co.uk/opds/2.0. Give that address, with your username and password, to any reader that speaks OPDS 2.0: a KOReader 2026.07.1 or newer, CrossPoint or Thorium. Readers that only speak the older OPDS 1.2 cannot use it.
From KOReader's file browser: Search → OPDS catalog → top-left menu → Add catalog, with the title Kindle Sync and the address above. Long-press a book to download it.
KOReader — progress sync
- Open a book, then choose Tools → Progress sync.
- Custom sync server: https://books.bradenm.co.uk — the base address, with no path after it.
- Choose Login, not Register. Registration is disabled and refuses.
- Sign in with the same account on every device, the web reader included. Positions are kept per account.
- Set Document matching method the same on every device. binary is the default and the right choice; filename breaks as soon as you rename a file.
- Turn on Send document metadata if you want titles to appear beside positions in the web UI.
Reading in the browser
Click a book's cover or title in the library. Turn pages with the arrow keys, or tap the left or right third of the page. EPUB and CBZ positions sync with KOReader: put the book down on your e-reader and pick it up on your phone where you stopped, and the other way round. For that, every device needs the same copy of the book: download it from this catalog rather than sideloading a copy from elsewhere.
Adding books
Administrators can upload EPUB files up to 64 MiB each, search Anna's Archive by title or author on the Admin page, or enter a book's whole-file MD5. Search defaults to English EPUBs and prefers UK English, then US English, when regional metadata is available. Selected books use the server's Anna's Archive fast-download API access; the file is verified before it appears in the catalogue. Readers can browse, download and sync their own progress, but cannot change the library.
For Grok, an administrator creates a separate request token on the Admin page. Give the bot that token rather than your reader password or Anna's Archive key. A completed request makes a book available in OPDS; you still choose to download it on the Kindle.
The Aa button sets the font, theme, text size, spacing, line length, columns, margins and the status bar. The font is saved to your account; the rest to this browser. The same settings, with a preview, are under Preferences.
